When You Start Questioning Yourself Too Quickly
I think there's something quietly powerful about being able to say:
“I'm not completely sure what happened here yet, but I know something about this didn't feel right to me.”
You don't have to immediately defend the feeling. You don't have to immediately dismiss it either.
Sometimes, it can simply be noticed.
Given some time.
And understood a little more gently.
Because trusting yourself doesn't mean believing that you're always right.
It means knowing that your own experience is worth listening to before you decide what it means.
When Being Misunderstood Feels Worse Than Being Disliked
I think being misunderstood hurts most when we care deeply about the person doing the misunderstanding.
We want them to know our intentions.
Our reasons.
The parts of the story they can't see.
Sometimes they will. Sometimes they won't.
And perhaps growing up emotionally isn't about learning how to explain ourselves perfectly.
Maybe it's also learning that we can survive being misunderstood.
We can know ourselves even when someone else doesn't.
And sometimes, that's enough.
